Day Camp Financial Assistance

Financial assistance for Day Camp is available through the Town of Windham Social Services as well as the State of Maine (DHHS) Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP).

  2. Complete a Financial Assistance application (available online or at the Parks & Recreation office).
  3. Schedule an interview with Rene Daniel by calling (207) 892-1906. Please note that financial assistance applications will not begin to be processed until mid-April.
Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP): Financial assistance is available through the State’s Child Care Subsidy Program.

Senior Voucher Program (Adults 55+)

Windham residents ages 55+ are eligible for funding based on income and need. In order to maximize the number of seniors we can assist, partial subsidy vouchers will be awarded for 50% or 75% off the program fee. Fee will be adjusted at the time of registration.

In order to be eligible for this ongoing scholarship program, you must complete an application and meet with Windham Social Services to be approved. Submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be awarded a voucher; however, if you are awarded a voucher, it will apply for a full year for participation in any Windham Parks and Recreation senior trips or activities.

In order to complete your application, you will need to schedule a meeting with Windham Social Services by calling 892-1906. If you have no means of transportation, this interview can be an ADA phone interview with the General Assistance Manager, Rene’ Daniels. You will need to bring with you:

  • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease or mortgage statement)
  • Proof of Income (Avesta Housing residents automatically qualify, so you’ll only have to indicate the Avesta Housing Complex in which you reside.)
Application and more information may be found online here, you may pick one up in the Parks & Recreation office, or you may call us at 892-1905 and we will mail one to you.

Youth, Adult & Family Voucher Program

In order to maximize the number of families we can assist, only partial scholarships consisting of a voucher will be awarded. Funding is very limited; awards are based on need. Voucher amounts are determined based on total program cost as follows:

  • Programs costing between $40-$75 are eligible for a $25 voucher.
  • Programs costing more than $75 are eligible for a $50 voucher.
  • Programs costing less than $40, no financial assistance is available.
  • Programs costing more than $100 will be eligible for financial assistance up to 75% based on need.
In order to be eligible for a voucher, you must complete an application and meet with Windham Social Services to be approved. Submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be awarded a voucher.

Application may be found online here, or you may pick one up in the Parks & Recreation office.
