Senior Camper Program for 14 year old teensThis program is designed for teens who will be 14 as of October 15 to develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience as a leader. The Senior Camper Program is a great “next step” for any camper interested in becoming a Windham Parks and Recreation camp counselor! Senior Campers can expect to participate in team-building activities, community service, and program planning along with many of the other traditional camp activities.  Campers choosing to participate in this program will pay discounted rates and will need to meet minimum program requirements in order to maintain Senior Camper status. Senior Campers are required to attend at least two in-camp days during Week One (June 24th-28th) and must participate in a minimum of 80 program hours over the course of the summer. Senior Campers and parents will sign a Senior Camper Contract recognizing the requirements of this program.

Please note: If your child is interested in becoming a Senior Camper and is unable to attend Week One of summer camp, you will need to contact the Parks & Recreation Office to apply for an exemption from this requirement.

If you will be 15 as of June 15 and would like to volunteer your services in a leadership capacity with younger campers, then apply for one of these positions.  The application will be available during the registration process or you can download one from the website.  The deadline to apply is Friday, May 17 and two letters of recommendation must be provided with the application.  Applicants will also be required to attend an interview prior to beginning the program.  Anyone who is selected for a CIT position will be expected to provide 21 days (7 hrs/day) or 150 hours of service to the program for the summer.  Regular progress in this position will be expected, and evaluations will be provided regularly throughout the summer.  Involvement as a CIT does not guarantee future employment; however, successful participants are given first consideration for open positions.
