Senior Fitness Challenge

Windham Parks & Recreation has put together a 3rd chapter of the Fitness Challenge. Over the last 2 months you have worked on Stretching, Balance, and Strength. The last of the Challenges, which will go for the month of March, will be working on increasing your Endurance. This challenge will involve walking. You will be keeping track of your steps weekly, with the goal of increasing your steps each week. The end goal is to get you over 10,000 steps in a week, which is ideal.

For Fitness Challenge # 3, you will need a way to keep track of your steps every week. For those of you with smartphones, there are a few apps that will keep track for you.

Here is the Challenge:
Week # 1     Between 4,000 – 6,000 steps per week
Week # 2     Between 5,000 – 7,000
Week # 3     Between 6,000 – 8,000
Week # 4     Between 7,000 – 9,000
Week # 5 ‘s Goal is over 10,000 for the week!!
(yes, there are almost 5 weeks in March – This will end Friday April 2)                                                                       
For those who don’t have a way to put a fitness app on your phone, please contact us at 892-1905, as we have a way that you will be able to track your steps.
