Fall 2021 Trail Work & Updates
The trail system at Lowell Preserve is being updated throughout the fall. Our partners at the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust are overseeing this trail work, along with the help of many volunteers, and we appreciate all of their hard work!

The work at Lowell this fall is focused on making the trail network easier to navigate, signing and improving the through-trail for snowmobiles and ATVs, and improving other problem areas. There will be two main trail loops that offer a consistently wide trail and are clearly marked with plastic blazes. In the northern section there will be two connected networks of technical trails, which are more narrow, steep, and winding than the main trails, offering a different experience, and which have their own map and signage. The trail connection to the neighboring Blackstrap Preserve in Falmouth, popular with mountain bikers and trail runners, will also be maintained and improved.
