Maine Wildlife Scavenger Hunt

Looking for a fun family activity to do while you're practicing social distancing on Windham's trails? Why not join in a scavenger hunt that’s all about our local wildlife!

We have hidden Maine Wildlife signs along the trails in Lippman Park, Mountain Division Trail, and the Lowell Preserve Story Walk. Look carefully - each sign will have pictures of either the animal’s tracks, diet, or offspring. You can use the worksheet below as a checklist when you find each sign, or take notes as needed. Once you’ve found all 3 signs at any location, use that information to identify the animal.

The Maine Wildlife Scavenger Hunt will run from Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, May 31st to give everyone plenty of time to participate. When you identify the animal at a location, please send us an email at Parks&Recreation@windhammaine.us with your name, age, and the type of animal. You will be entered to win a prize; if you identify 3 different animals, you will be entered 3 times!

As always, please remember to follow good social distancing practices. Go only with your immediate family, and if the parking lot seems full please come back another time. Allow at least 6 feet of distance between yourselves and any other families. We want to encourage everyone in Windham to safely enjoy time outdoors!
